Ursula Deitrich

Dr. Dietrich is a Diplomate of both the American (ACVO) and European (ECVO) Colleges of Veterinary Ophthalmology and currently an independent consultant in feline Ophthalmology at the London Cat Clinic, United Kingdom, since 2020.
Ursula graduated from the Veterinary College at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich, Germany where she also obtained her doctoral degree (Dr.med.vet) in 1996. She completed an ACVO residency program at the Vetsuisse Faculty in Zurich, Switzerland in 2000. She subsequently became faculty member at the College of Veterinary Medicine, The University of Georgia, in Athens, GA, U.S.A. and was promoted Associate Professor with tenure in 2005. After many years in academia Dr. Dietrich worked in private referral practices in New York and Bletchingley, UK, and eventually joined the Royal Veterinary College in London as a Senior Lecturer from 2017-2020. Dr. Dietrich is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has dedicated most of her career to the mentoring and training of students, interns and residents. She is an international lecturer and course instructor, author and co-author of many articles and textbooks. Dr. Dietrich was member of the ACVO genetics committee from 2020-2024 and has stayed on the committee in her role as Feline Liason. She co-founded the Feline Forum at the annual ACVO meeting, now in its 4th year, with fellow feline-centric ophthalmologist, Dr. Michelle Willis, to promote interest in feline ophthalmology.
