Jaycie Riesberg, DVM, Diplomate, ACVO, is a Board-certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist at MedVet Salt Lake City, where she has been a part of the team since 2022. She is also an adjunct faculty member for Washington State University and an instructor for the ophthalmology course since 2019.
Dr. Jaycie Riesberg attended Colorado State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Biomedical Sciences. She then earned, with honors, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following earning her veterinary degree, Dr. Riesberg completed a rotating medicine and surgery internship at the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Additionally, she completed an ophthalmology residency at the Animal Eye Clinic of Spokane and the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Riesberg has a special interest in cornea, cataract, and adnexal surgery. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is interacting with clients and patients, restoring vision, and alleviating pain and discomfort in animals.
When away from the hospital, Dr. Riesberg enjoys horseback riding, skiing, hiking, and spending time with her husband, two kids and two dogs.
AUDREY HUDSON

Eyelid Reconstructive Surgery
I will talk about surgical correction for entropion, ectropion, eyelid masses, cilia disorders, and brachycephalic ocular syndrome.
Dr. Audrey Hudson earned both her Bachelor’s degree and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M University. After practicing small animal medicine and surgery for three years, she pursued a specialization in veterinary ophthalmology. Dr. Hudson completed a three-year residency in veterinary ophthalmology in Dallas, TX, and became board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology in 2016. While she enjoys all facets of veterinary ophthalmology, Dr. Hudson is particularly interested in surgical interventions for ocular diseases and the management of neuro-ophthalmic conditions.
Dr. Hudson frequently speaks at national and international veterinary meetings on the medical and surgical treatment of ocular disease. Dr. Hudson is enthusiastic about finding creative solutions for ophthalmic diseases and is active in clinical research.
Dr. Hudson is passionate about building relationships with primary care veterinarians and helping them hone their ophthalmic examination and diagnostic skills. She is an active Veterinary Information Network (VIN) consultant and often presents at both in-person and virtual continuing education seminars.

Under Pressure: Glaucoma Recognition and Treatment
This lecture will review canine glaucoma, including the mechanisms for primary and secondary glaucomas, as well as to properly diagnose glaucoma with tonometry. It will also review how to properly treat glaucoma medically and to understand when surgical intervention is required.
Don’t Panic: Canine Ophthalmic Emergencies
This lecture will review canine ocular emergencies from corneal perforations to traumatic proptosis to orbital foreign bodies. It will also review how to properly treat these emergencies medically and to understand when surgical intervention is required. It will also discuss prognosis for the patient.
Dr. Christina Korb, DVM, DACVO grew up in Irmo, South Carolina. She attended College of Charleston, in Charleston, South Carolina, where she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After completing business school, she decided to change career paths and become a veterinarian. She graduated from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed a one year small animal rotating internship at The University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center. She joined the team at The Animal Eye Institute in 2017. Dr. Korb completed both a Specialty Internship and an ABVO approved residency with The Animal Eye Institute and then achieved board certification. Her clinical interests are cataract surgery, corneal surgery, and ocular surface disease. In her spare time, Dr. Korb enjoys staying active, listening to true crime podcasts, and spending time with her Maltese Poodles, Charlie and Tucker. She also has 3 ferrets and loves watching those Georgia Bulldogs. Dr. Korb is the lead ophthalmologist of the Charleston, South Carolina office.

Dr. Stine has resided in Tampa Bay for over a decade and very much enjoys supporting the human-animal bond and well-being of our furry friends! She graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Chemistry minor. Dr. Stine completed her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida, graduating cum laude in 2005. Following veterinary school, she completed a one-year small animal medicine & surgery rotating internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey. She then returned to Florida for more post-graduate training, completing a specialty internship in veterinary ophthalmology with Florida Veterinary Specialists followed by a three-year residency in comparative ophthalmology with the same group, now BluePearl Veterinary Partners. Dr. Stine completed her residency in 2014 and achieved board certification status in veterinary ophthalmology in 2015. Dr. Stine is enjoying her clinical practice, and values long-term relationships with her patients and clients. She sees her profession as an opportunity to serve others, not only the patients and clients, but supporting learning in future clinicians with resident training, and closely partnering with your primary veterinarian, providing phone updates on all new patients, and speaking at local & national continuing education conferences. Dr. Stine enjoys life at home with her family, and when not at work can be found in the garden, on a yoga mat, or really anywhere outside in nature. She has an adorable one-eyed calico grandma cat named Winks, who has been with Dr. Stine since her specialty internship.
Sami Pederson

The Rainbow of the Eye
This 1 hour lecture covers a variety of ophthalmic conditions based on the color wheel. It involves audience participation, but a more open forum based on images to stimulate questions and conversation.
Sami Pederson DVM, MS, DACVO is a Board-certified Veterinary Ophthalmologist at WestVet in Boise, Idaho.
Dr. Pederson attended the University of Idaho in Moscow, ID for undergrad and Oregon State University for veterinary school. She completed a rotating internship at WestVet, followed by an ophthalmology internship at BluePearl in Tampa, FL. She then completed another ophthalmology internship at Colorado State University and remained for her Ophthalmology Residency and Master of Science degree.
Dr. Pederson has worked on several projects and publications, including various articles on advanced imaging of the eye and the ocular effects of radiation in wild animals from Fukushima, Japan. She enjoys the challenges of ophthalmic surgery and seeing her patients happy and comfortable at their follow-up appointments.
When not helping patients directly, Dr. Pederson also trains residents, mentors interns, and runs WestVet's externship program for veterinary students. She has spoken at AVOT conferences several times, and is excited to be back and helping provide further education about veterinary ophthalmology!
Colleen Sheridan

Equine eye: common complaints and all about SPLs
This 1 hour lecture will cover common eye diseases in the horse and identifying ocular emergencies. We will also discuss management and treatment with subpalpebral lavage systems.
Dr. Colleen Sheridan received her veterinary degree from Mississippi State University in 2016. She completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at the University of Tennessee and a specialty ophthalmology internship at Louisiana State University. Following a fellowship in equine ophthalmology in Northern Virginia, she completed a residency in comparative ophthalmology at the University of Georgia. Dr. Sheridan’s academic interests include infectious corneal disease and equine ophthalmology. In her free time, she enjoys cycling, hiking, exploring new restaurants, and cooking. She is currently a clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.
