This will be the 49th annual conference of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists.

We cordially invite you to join 1,000+ veterinary ophthalmology industry experts at the 49th annual conference of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This cutting edge, scientific conference brings together approximately 850-1,000 veterinarians and technicians who represent the best in veterinary ophthalmology around the world, providing them with 19.25 - 21.75 hours of CE for the general meeting. The ACVO conference draws attendees and vendors from over 30 countries, and is held in the United States.

The 2018 schedule is being developed, each program will be highlighted on separate pages on this site. More information will be posted as speakers and programs are confirmed. The program will provide 19.25 hours of CE members for the general conference, and 21.75 hours for non-members. Registration includes access to the following:

  • Keynote Speaker, Douglas Rhee, “Conquering Intraocular Pressure:  New and Traditional Pharmacologic, Laser, Surgical Approaches in Humans - Clinical and Laboratory Science Review."
  • In-Depth speaker on Corneal Cross Linking.
  • 150+ scientific presentations and posters
  • Vitreous Society session (retinal implants and degeneration)
  • Teaching/Learning Meeting
  • Career Fair (NEW! To bring together residency programs, candidates and job promotions)
  • Residents' Workshop (advancements, diagnosis, treatment of equine eye diseases)
  • Sunday Avian Ophthalmology course focusing on raptors, including on-site teaching/touring of the Raptor Center at University of MN (limited to 50, 4 hrs CE)
  • Practical Ophthalmology for General Practitioners' course (8 hrs CE)
  • 50+ ophthalmology specific companies in our daily vendor show
     

We also include some networking opportunities including a welcome reception with vendors, Friday social, ACVO Vision for Animals Foundation Party and Auction off-site, 'fun run' and more.

Attendee registration is open through August 27th. We offer discounted fees for verifiable residents, interns and students. All conference attendees will receive access to online presentation recordings for the year they attend at no additional cost! AVOT attendee registration is sold out.

Purchase on-line access to searchable, video recordings of sessions!
Additional years (2011-current) are available for purchase for anyone interested. This system allows the user to search topics or speakers across all years’ presentations. All ACVO attendees will gain immediate free access included in their registration. Access can also be purchased by non-attendees for these and the General Practitioner courses for a fee. All active ACVO Members receive access after three months.

Future Conferences

Annual conferences offer on average 15-20 continuing education credit hours. A small exhibit show of approximately 65 vendors takes place each year. Average attendance is 750-850, technicians an additional 120, with total registered attendees being 850-900. Sponsorship opportunities are available.

Are you or your company interested in hosting a meeting in conjunction to the ACVO conference? If so, please request the "Satellite Meeting Policy" before submitting your request to the ACVO Board of Regents.
