Departing the Island

Pick up your return buggy ticket at the registration table in front of the Terrace room

For your return trip back to the mainland, follow the in-room instructions. Your luggage will be tagged and transferred from your room to a secure location on the appropriate mainland dock. We request a minimum three-hour window for the transfer. Guests departing by ferry prior to 9:00 AM should transfer their own luggage to the dock. You will pick up your luggage once you arrive to the mainland.

• Please contact the Concierge or Front Door man to book your returning buggy to the ferry docks. You will receive your return buggy ticket when you check into the Retreat Registration Desk on-site and get your badge.

• You may also choose to walk to ferry dock. Grand Hotel is a pleasant 15 to 20-minute walk from the boat docks.

• You will need to present the round-trip ferry ticket while boarding the boat, this was provided during the first ferry trip over to the island (save your tickets!)

• The Mackinaw Airport Shuttle will be parked on the waterfront side by the green and white striped tent (which is the Grand Hotel's baggage claim tent).  The vehicles are all black with gold lettering on the sides that reads, "Mackinaw Shuttle."
