Minneapolis-St.Paul International Airport - MSP

The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is the closest airport from our host hotel, the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, about 20 minutes by taxi.  There are two terminals at MSP: Terminal 1-Lindbergh and Terminal 2-Humphrey. The terminals are accessed off separate roadways, so it is important to know which terminal you will fly in or out of. Check the airlines by terminal page to find out which terminal you’ll need.

Shuttle Service

The Hyatt Regency Minneapolis, does not offer shuttle service, but a few shuttle services are available to and from the MSP airport and prices vary by company.  The Airport provides a list of ground transportation options for your consideration.

Taxi service at Terminal 1 is accessible via the Tram Level (Level T). Signs direct passengers one level up to the taxi starter booth, where airport staff will assist passengers in obtaining a taxi. At Terminal 2, taxi service is available at the Ground Transport Center, located on the ground level of the Purple Ramp directly across from the terminal building.

Downtown Minneapolis is approximately 12 miles from the airport, with fares averaging $39-$49.

Renting a car is also a good option if you are considering exploring the area in your free time. If you do go this route, there is a $24 self-parking daily fee at the hotel and hotel valet parking for $39 per day.

Light rail and Bus details

MSP does offer a Light Rail Transit (LRT) train stop at both Terminal 1-Lindbergh and Terminal 2-Humphrey. Trains run every 10 minutes during peak hours and typically every 10 to 15 minutes at other times of the day. From the airport, trains can take you to Mall of America in about 12 minutes and to the Warehouse District in downtown Minneapolis in about 25 minutes. For transportation to the Hyatt, take the Metro Blue Line - Northbound train and exit at Nicollet Mall Station.  The stop is not ideal for walking to the hotel (about eight long blocks - approx 20 min walk) but a free city shuttle  can be taken from the station to Nicollet Mall & Alice Rainville Place stop (Near 13th Street and the Hyatt Regency). This option is not recommended in the evening or if hauling luggage, please be aware that the free shuttle is difficult to time and completely stops running soon after 9PM nightly (these hours may change without our knowledge).

  • Tickets are sold at ticket machines at the rail stations
  • For more information, visit the Metro Transit website
  • No ticket is needed to travel between airport terminal stations
