To help accommodate the diverse interests of the attendees of the ACVO annual conference, we will divide the morning scientific session into three breakout sessions. The first one will be offered as a stand-alone course. The second breakout will consist of two concurrent courses; equine and exotics. These sessions will be open to all registered attendees at no additional fee.
The first breakout course description is listed below followed by the schedule for the concurrent breakout sessions.
NEW! Friday Breakout Course #1 (8:30am-9:45am)
Much Ado About Ophthalmology - Current Concepts in Ophthalmic Research
Presented by Drs. Esson, Wilkie, Cook, Sapienza & Millichamp
Each year a number of recognized and respected ophthalmic research-meetings take place, however the busy clinical schedules of many clinicians frequently prevent them from attending meetings other than that of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO). Additionally, the larger scientific meetings often encompass a significant amount of material with little to no veterinary applicability. In an effort to help address these issues, a panel of ACVO Diplomates will provide a brief summary of material from the years’ major ophthalmic meetings, comprising The Association for Research in Vision & Ophthalmology (ARVO), The American Glaucoma Society (AGS), The European College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ECVO), The Vision Science Centre (VSC) & The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
Relevant abstracts will be condensed and presented and a select few highlighted for brief discussion in a panel-mediated format in order to maximize accessibility.
If you’re a busy ophthalmologist who’s ever enjoyed an abbreviated Shakespeare, we hope you’ll join us for a whirlwind interactive session covering what’s hot this year in ophthalmic research.
