PRACTICE MANAGEMENT

The Practice Management session will be a roundtable format with moderated topics generated by attendees. It will be held Wednesday, October 5th, 12-2:30pm. Lunch will not be served. This session has been booked prior to the Genetics session to allow individuals to attend both courses if they so desire. The cost of the course will be $45. Registration for this course is open to everyone.

For a slight change of pace this year, the practice management session will be just  2.5 hours on Wednesday afternoon from 12-2:30pm.  Rather than have outside speakers, we will dip in to our collective experience and glean wisdom and practice tips from each other. In the past this type of discussion has been a favorite part of the meeting for me.  We can have roundtable discussions on various topics, as we have done in the past, for either all of the time, or for 90 minutes leaving an hour for selected short (10 minute) lectures or discussion starters from some of you on topics of your choice.  If you are so inspired, send me a plan for a short lecture on a topic such as:  computer software, or accounting tips, or hiring and firing, marketing, scheduling, inventory control, hiring an associate, staying current with ophthalmic literature, burn out, etc.

Let me know which of the above two formats you favor: a) 2.5 hours of roundtable discussion,  or b) one hour of selected short lectures from your fellow ophthalmologists followed by 90 minutes of roundtable
dissucssion.
